Traditional Business –
Kent Carlyle can chart a legacy of performance for over a century.
Kent Carlyle can trace its heritage back to 1906 when Hugh J Boswell established his business in Bank St, Norwich. Offering Stockbroking, followed by life insurance and broking services.
The Boswell family owned the firm until the 1960s, when it was sold to a national conglomerate which included other local firms such as Thurlow Nunn. One of the people in charge of the restructuring was Gentleman Jim Thomson, who was well known and well loved locally and nationally by his many friends and clients. In the 1980's, after a successful buyout, ownership returned to the Norwich based Directors.
In 1992 the Life & Pensions part of the business became Boswell Financial Services Ltd. It was renamed Kent Carlyle following a management buyout by Martin Hewetson and Michael Saunders in 2012.
The new business name is composed of two inspiring family names from the Directors' families. Mike's Mum has been his inspiration since her death and the Kent name was her mother's maiden name. Martin’s brother is Warren Carlyle, whose outstanding hard work and skill in the world of dance has made him a Tony-award winning Broadway choreographer.
Today Kent Carlyle offers clients a personalised approach that is based around long-term relationships. Key to this service is proactive and personal communication offering realistic, measured advice, whilst placing our clients’ needs and expectations in everything we do.
